Tender Overview

SOLARTEX GLOBAL COMPANY LTD invites sealed bids from registered medical equipment suppliers for the supply, delivery, installation, and commissioning of hospital equipment. The equipment will be deployed across designated healthcare facilities to enhance diagnostic capability, surgical capacity, and patient monitoring. Suppliers must comply with all applicable regulatory requirements governing medical devices in Kenya.

Scope of Supply

  • Digital X-ray systems (DR) with workstation and DICOM output
  • Ultrasound machines — portable and cart-based (general purpose and obstetric)
  • Anaesthesia machines with integrated ventilator and gas monitoring
  • Multi-parameter patient monitors (ECG, SpO2, NIBP, temperature)
  • Surgical theatre lights — ceiling-mounted LED (single and double dome)
  • Autoclave steam sterilisers (50L and 100L capacity)
  • Laboratory haematology analysers (3-part and 5-part differential)
  • Installation, commissioning, and staff training included in scope

Technical / Regulatory Specifications

  • All devices must be registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB)
  • Compliance with IEC 60601-1 (general safety) and applicable sub-standards
  • CE marking or FDA 510(k) clearance accepted as baseline approval
  • Warranty: minimum 2 years parts and labour on all equipment
  • Local service support and spare parts availability must be demonstrated
  • Manuals in English; operator and service documentation required
  • Installation to comply with WHO health facility design guidelines

Eligibility Criteria

  • Certificate of Incorporation / Business Registration
  • Valid Tax Compliance Certificate (KRA)
  • PPB import / distribution licence for medical devices (current)
  • Minimum 3 years' documented experience supplying medical equipment
  • Authorisation letter from original equipment manufacturer (OEM)
  • Audited financial statements for the last 2 financial years
  • Proof of completed contracts with hospitals or health facilities
